About us
The hotel
The hotel was inaugurated in 1957 and was a modern hotel with rooms, a restaurant, and a lounge, designed by Ole Helweg. Despite a rocky start with soaring costs and bankruptcy, Laponia was expanded in 1975 with the current reception, hotel rooms, conference rooms, pool, and relaxation area. Since then, the development has continued, and today we offer a total of five exclusive lounges with a restaurant. The Laponiakåta by the road is a highlight in the summer, and the open fire burns when it is coldest and most needed. We are a cozy hotel with many lounges and space to socialize. Suitable for families, small businesses, or large gatherings.
Environment and sustainability
We have initiated long-term sustainability efforts that include the global sustainability goals.
The hotel is actively working to certify itself with Green Key, which is an international sustainability label for facilities within the tourism industry. The work is ongoing and we estimate to achieve our goal by 2026.
