Trollforsen

Trollforsen is a beautiful stretch of rapids that also forms Trollholmen by splitting the rapids. The islet is just under four kilometers long and at its widest is 700 meters across. On both sides, Trollholmen is surrounded by raging rapids. The southern branch has in several places cut deeply, forming ravines. A series of rapids and falls create a mighty staircase fall here. The forests on both sides of the river are ancient, with pines that are among 400-500 years old.
